The goblin dog continued to strain against its chain.

Stabem climbed the rope and managed to get to the top of the ledge. Wahesh waited for Barnacleez to make more progress before starting his ascent. The goblins remained in “hiding” and awaited something to attack. They failed to notice Ro-Mahn skulking near the gate.

Lou B’Goo huddled close to Cando while Ro-Mahn carefully lifted the bar to allow the gate to open. The rogue spotted a third goblin in hiding near the center structure as he slipped back away from the unlocked gate. As he moved, a disembodied female goblin voice chimed out, “There’s one of them by the gate! Get him!”

Barnacleez waited for Lady Emyralda to climb higher before he climbed the rope himself. Wahesh moved to the rope and started up after the gnome.

Cando pushed open the gate, snarling as he stepped over the threshold. The half-orc hurled a dart at the nearest goblin he could see but missed the mark due to the cover the monster had hidden behind.

[This summary represents two rounds of actions.]

Stabem grabbed the rope and started to climb. Wahesh moved toward the rope and took up a guard position at the bottom while the rest started to ascend. Barnacleez cast Mage Armor upon himself. The gnome then moved to the rope and began climbing. Lou G’Boo scampered to the relative safety of Ro-Mahn’s position.

Ro-Mahn carefully climbed the fence and quietly set down on the other side of the gate.

This small practice yard is surrounded by a crudely made metal fence and several small wooden buildings. Mud and morass cover the ground, and the sickly sweet stench of decay hangs heavy in the air. A rusting metal gate blocks the entrance to a cave to the northwest, while a second gate leads to the southeast. In the center of the yard, a stubby rectangular building sits upon a roughly hewn stone foundation. A crude depiction of a three-eyed face decorates its door.

The rogue immediately spotted two fiendish goblins, skulking in the shadows with shortbows drawn. The monsters did not seem to see the rogue. He also noticed an ugly, dog-like creature straining against its rusty chain within the kennel to the west.

Lady Emyralda made her way to the rope and began to climb. Cando stepped forward next to the gate, ready to act once Ro-Mahn lifts the bar.

Ro-Mahn waited for the party members on the ground to get into position. Wahesh readied, waiting for Barnacleez to move closer. Stabem moved to the south and acted as a lookout.

The sorcerer moved forward as fast as he could toward the rest of the party. Wahesh pulled out his rope and stepped next to the gnome. The fighter handed the rope to Lou G’Boo and Barnacleez dispatched his familiar to climb the scaffolding and deliver the rope to Ro-Mahn. The monkey took 6 nonlethal damage for his efforts but delivered the package. The rogue grabbed the rope from the monkey and managed to tie it off to the gate and toss the free end down the cliff. The end landed on the ground next to the waiting Stabem’s feet.

Lady Emyralda moved to the base of the scaffolding and channeled positive energy. The wave of healing cured herself, Cando and Lou G’Boo of 4 nonlethal damage each. Cando moved out of the mold to the relative safety next to Ro-Mahn. The half-orc used his wand to cure himself of 5 nonlethal damage.

This Time It's On Me ...

Sorry for the radio silence. Been busy at work and in my personal life. I have not had the time nor the will to push the game forward.

That said, I would like to get us wrapped up on the current adventure before the end of the year. There are only a couple of encounters left. U-Con is this weekend and I am busy getting ready for that. I will try to post turn results and a new turn on Monday to achieve forward progress.

Assuming everyone is willing and recharged, we can then delve into the third part of the module at the start of 2018.

Hope everyone is well.
