Master of the Fallen Fortress - Turn Results 5

Holytrauma moved forward toward the spider and readied an attack with his battleaxe. Takka Takka delayed and waited for the spider to move.

The spider descended to attack the paladin. Holytrauma took a swing but missed the enormous arachnid. The spider’s bite failed to penetrate the paladin’s armor. Takka Takka moved forward to engage the monster. Due to the difficult terrain, the rogue was not able to maneuver into a flanking position and still get an attack. The tengu was able to land an attack with a claw which dealt 2 damage.
Mo’Mo’Mo ordered H’Juan to attack the spider and moved into the room, keeping to the right and out of melee. The velociraptor closed with the spider but was unable to land its bite attack. Emyralda moved to engage the spider but movement through the terrain prevented her from making an attack.
Korg moved closer to the spider and attacked with his longspear. The attack missed, possibly due to the cover provided to the monster by the rest of the party.

Master of the Fallen Fortress - Turn Results 4

Mo’Mo’Mo cast both a light spell and a detect magic spell before proceeding into the room. Emyralda also cast detect magic but did neither sensed anything.

Holytrauma lead the way and entered the chamber while scanning for evil and looking cautiously. The paladin did not sense anything amiss initially. Just as he was about the signal the party to follow, a glob of webbing shot from above and entangling him. Upon making its attack, a man-sized spider was revealed hiding within the webs.

Master of the Fallen Fortress - Turn Results 3

Examination of the dead dogs by Korg and Emyralda yielded no useful nor sinister information. From all appearances, they were hungry wild dogs.

Emyralda used a wand of cure light wounds to heal the tengu after Mo’Mo’Mo examined Takka Takka’s wounds and exclaimed, “This be being true, da bird is grievously wounded.”

After finishing up outside and healing the rogue, the party ventured into the tower. Upon entering it became immediately clear that the southern wing was entirely filled with rubble.

The northern wing of the tower seems to have escaped the worst effects of the collapse, but rubble still litters the floor and everything is covered in a thick layer of stone dust. Thick cobwebs cloak the ceiling and hang down the walls like gossamer tapestries. A single archway stands open in the southwest wall.

Master of the Fallen Fortress - Turn Results 2

Holytrauma moved to the aid of Takka Takka but missed the attacking dog with his battleaxe. Emyralda advanced and took a swing with her scimitar but also missed the dog. Mo’Mo’Mo also moved to defend his friend. The Druid struck the dog with his scimitar and scored a devastating blow dealing 18 damage which cut the creature in two.

The remaining dogs attacked the tengu. The first missed but the second managed to bite the rogue for 4 damage.

Takka Takka moved away from the dog that bit him and attacked the other dog with his claws and beak. One of the claws and the beak struck true dealing 4 damage and 3 damage, downing the canine. Korg moved forward and cast a spell. The sorcerer targeted the remaining dog with an Acid Splash. The spell hit and dealt 3 damage. H’Juan moved forward and attacked the last dog. The velociraptor’s bite hit dealing 8 damage and killed the dog.

Master of the Fallen Fortress - Turn Results 1

Expecting Trouble, Korg cast Mage Armor upon himself. Takka Takka carefully approached the structure looking for signs of danger while Mo’Mo’MO, H’Juan and Emyralda held their ground looking for signs of anything out of place. Holytrauma looked off at the distant mid-day sun trying to gauge how long the journey had taken.

As the tengu approached the entrance, he spotted three dashes of movement headed in his direction. Mo’Mo’Mo and Korg also yelled out warnings as three wild dogs emerged from the shade of the tower’s interior. The beasts held an obviously hostile posture.

Master of the Fallen Fortress - GM Turn Post 1

You are in Absalom, the mighty City at the Center of the World, and you’ve always longed to explore one of the countless ruins of failed conquerors that litter the plains outside the city’s walls.

You’ve heard rumors that one of the sealed siege castles has been laid open by a minor earthquake. Word on the street is that no one has yet entered the tower, which folks are calling the “Fallen Fortress.” What better way to start a life of excitement and adventure than by exploring its long-abandoned, dusty halls and perhaps claiming its ancient treasures?

It is a journey of only a few hours from the city’s walls to the Cairnlands, where the Fallen Fortress lies open for exploration. Your journey to the fortress is uneventful.

The ruined siege castle, now being called the Fallen Fortress, rises out of the churned earth of the Cairnlands. No doors or windows mar the otherwise smooth expanse of the tower’s walls. The tower is quatrefoil in plan; its eastern wing has largely collapsed, exposing the interior floors to the open air. Only the topmost level seems whole, though its eastern portion hangs precariously over the mountain of rubble left by the collapse. At ground level, the rubble frames a gaping hole in the side of the building that provides access to the tower’s darkened interior.

Any interest in trying another scenario?

Is there any interest in trying to play another PFS scenario in PBB fashion. We are not limited to low level scenarios assuming that the players have characters in the appropriate tiers. (Based on looking at everyone's available characters, low tier stuff still seems the most likely.)

If there is interest, we will figure out something to play.

This Game is Officially on Hiatus

After much consideration, I have decided to place the PFS Play-by-Blog game on hiatus. I have not had the time for the game and it did not seem that the players had the time either.

Since we never really got that far, we will treat this as if you have never plaed this module. You are free to play your characters in other PFS events.

I am planning to run this adventure with my Tuesday night group as we have several players in need of low tier adventures to build their stable of characters.

I am open to playing PFS PBB again in the future. As we are limited on low tier scenarios, it may have to wait until one is released and earmarked for us to play or we would need to play a higher tier adventure. I can always run the Tier 1-2 The Confirmation. Bruce and Dave have played it but it is replayable and has some differences worked into it.
