Is there any interest is starting this up again? We would need 4 players.
If so, is there anything we would like to change with the format? I know it can be slow to play as it is not live action but it does seem to work when everyone participates.
As to what to play, I would suggest lower level stuff, maybe the evergreens and/or quests.
I have no problem. playing.
ReplyDeleteBut I really think we should streamline it some how.
Work with Decision points. I don't want to be waiting for 1 person for 4 days. To figure out to go left or right.
Ok. Streamlineing. How do we do that? Establish a set of common orders, like marching order, which will be followed unless specifically countermanded? Default character actions the same way?
DeleteI do not want to have to nag or babysit to get things to move. That is why we stopped the last couple of times.
Yes, here is Single / Double marching order.
DeleteDoor Thief Listen, Fighter open
We will always listen at intersections (perception rolls)
End of fight / Search.
Next door and repeat the cycle. We choose a leader and that person sets the direction we all follow. If something comes up we can discuss but not to the point of beating a horse to death.
I think it is reasonable to have a round a day (M-F).
If you want to compile a list of standard orders, we can try to use them to streamline play.
DeleteBruce Said:
DeleteIf there are records of past posts, we could look through them for standard stuff.
Maybe rolling a bunch of dice at the start and you using them as we go can save some texting.
Then we'd only have to post movement points.
All past turns are available on this blog.
DeleteI ask each player for 5 rolls each turn in case something unexpected occurs and a roll is needed. i.e. saving throw, perception check, etc.
Do we need to update the player response template?
Character Name – Player Action Response - GM Turn Post #
Move 1 –
Attack –
Move 2 –
Cast a Spell –
Use Ability/Item/Skill –
Search –
Talk to X –
Initiative Roll –
Attack Roll (s) –
Confirm Potential Crit –
Damage Roll(s) –
Crit Damage –
Special Damage –
Rolls for Saving Throws/Skill checks –
The biggest challenge is finding a 5th guy that will post on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteI'd be game; I like this format and its a fun little distraction.
ReplyDeleteWe really only need 4 players. Right now it sounds like Matt F, Matt H, Dave and Bruce for sure. I am open to inviting other veterans or new players if we think they are a good fit.
ReplyDeleteI will say up front that I can only commit to 2 to 3 turn posts a week (5 a week seems very pie in the sky). Depending on what is happening in game, turn updates can take me a while to pull together.
To get started playing, I will need to know what you would like to play. Do you want to use existing characters, if so, which ones and what levels? If new guys, do you want to play Normal or Core?
Do you want to play a module, a full scenario or a quest (or series of quests)? I have a module which is actually 3 shorter adventures for 1st, 2nd and 3rd level characters respectively (technically all three are tier 1-3) that has a bonus chronicle if you play all three adventures with the same character.
I have a few season 7 and season 8 tier 1-5 scenarios for normal PFS. There are 3 evergreen tier 1-2 scenarios, one of which I think only Bruce has played. For Core, we can play almost any of them. There are 6 quests for season 8 which none of you have played but these require you to play 1st level pregens rather than a character of your own creation.
I would like to get in on the blog, I promise to be more timely in my responses than I was in the past
ReplyDeleteOK. That makes 5.
DeleteI have sent an inquiry to my friend Joe (Joe-factor) Nochman who is working and living overseas. If he is interested, that would make 6 players.
