DtBP: Firebrand’s Redoubt - GM Turn Post 21

If the party wishes to take the time to identify the magic items, four Spellcraft rolls are required. Appraise rolls are required for the brass rings, amethysts and onyx longsword.

Examination of the letter allows for some knowledge checks. You may make Knowledge (dungeoneering) and either a Knowledge (history) or Knowledge (local) roll.

What do you want to do next? The door leads into the interior of the redoubt. The secret door leads back the way you came through the sally port.

Please submit your turn instructions using the Player Action Response - Turn Post Template. If you are planning to use a specific skill, please list the skill and the associated roll(s) along with your 5 d20 rolls.

    1. Barnacleez examined the magic items. He determined eight of the potions to be cure light wounds while the remaining two were hide from undead. The gnome also identified the warhammer as a +1 weapon. He was unsure of the cloak.

  2. Wahesh dusts himself off, looks over the bar, pours himself a glass of whatever's good and one for whoever else wants one.
Tries a local history roll for that letter, but rolled a 1 so I don't think he knows./:
    "Looks like we interrupted something."

    1. *tosses back drink*
"The thing with plans, it's hard to account for everything - like a gang of troublesome adventurers. But what's the chance of that?"

"Maybe our lack of planning is actually a strength."

    2. Ro-Mahn recognizes Phaedextrin’s Maw as a massive crevasse in the Darklands region of Nar-Voth that stretches for nearly 8 miles, and is one of the dominant features in the area by which subterranean explorers can navigate.

Ro-Man looked over the valuables. He estimated that the two brass rings were worth 40 gp each. He was unsure about the gems and sword.

  4. Cando joins his companions at the bar and avails himself of a drink as well...

"That was a near thing, that battle... perhaps worthy of two verses when I craft the tale of this adventure. Let me see if I can help any with the contents of that letter."

    K-Local: 2 +7 = 9 "Nope. Guess not."

"Now then, those items... Can I take a look at 'Mary' and see if she's got something to say to me, Barnie?"

    Spellcrack: 16 + 5 = 21 "Hmmm... maybe....?"

"Now then, I've got some room to carry a bit of loot with us, but perhaps the rest we stuff behind the bar for now and grab it on our way out?"

    Other Rolls: 8,18,6,12,5

  5. What does the party want to do next? Press on? If so, forward (through the door) or backward (back through the sally port and back to the front door)? Rest?

  6. I am fine with moving on.

OOC. If you need a roll. Please roll for me. I can’t do it on my phone.

  7. Yes. Press.

Per Cando, let's hide the loot behind the bar as it'd be hard to fight monsters'n'such with a sack o' treasure on your back.

  8. On behalf of Dave:

Ro-Mahn will listen at the door. If he hears nothing, he will stealthily open it and peek outside.
