-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conditions
Obscuring Mist – obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target) - (1 minute)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Party Health:
Fergus 9/9, Jerry 14/14, Noc Stonepriest 11/12, Ronan Hex 9/9, Korg the Mighty 6/8
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Map Key:
Light blue squares are filled with Obscuring Mist.
Deandre Dulay (J2) - Human woman, young and lithe, with red hair hanging in ringlets that just brush her shoulders. She wears a long skirt, embroidered with silver and black thread and a high-necked woolen blouse.
Larkin Waever (K2) – Human man with a face you could easily forget or miss in a crowd. He has short-cropped light brown hair, light complexion, and forgettable brown eyes. He wears rumpled worker’s clothing with a heavy coat.
Ledford (K3) – Halfling man with a comical handlebar moustache. He has an easy face to remember, but when madness fills his eyes, he’s a sight one soon wants to put as far from memory as possible.
Halli Fosta (L3) – Human woman with full golden blonde hair that frames her healthy, smiling face, punctuated with steely blue eyes and thick red lips. She wears a well-made, green silk dress in the most current fashion with a shimmering black scarf draped across her shoulders, and fidgets as she moves.

  1. /em confusion. How do we get these descriptions if we cant see these people? Did we get a good look before the obscuring mist?

  4. Dave,

I gave the descriptions for when/if you see them. (You also do not know their names but I had to call them something.)

    Bruce,

Is Jerry planning to move or just wait for the fight to come to him?

  8. Ranged attacks firing into the mist have no chance to hit. It is part of the total concelment condition.

  9. Rolling a two has a similar effect. :)

  10. Clarification: Obscuring Mist also covers the roof top on that end of the map. All squares, H1 through N5 are filled. (I will reflect that in the next map.)

  11. Dave - the action you have described sounds like a Ready action. You can only perform a single action (Standard, Move, Swift or Free) when activating a Ready action but get to interrupt the action that triggers it and go first. If you wish to Delay, you will get the flexibility of your full action but will not go until after the enemy.

Bruce - Are you planning to enter the mist to make an attack or holding for an enemy to appear? (I believe that you said that you were moving forward but I need a path of travel.) If you are waiting, the same things about Ready and Delay apply.

Brad - know that firing into total concealment is a futile action (regardless of dice roll), Noc can choose to do something else.

  12. I understand, the pot shot was futile, I'll formally retract it, and delete the post soon.

What i'm considering is that they've given themselves a massive tactical advantage if we advance, but *why* are we advancing? Could we not just retreat and leave them to get soggy in their mist while we take a different street?

(I'm not trying to avoid the adventure path, just looking at it from Noc's standpoint. Why attack a bunch of strangers with an advantage if we don't need to?)

  13. Just trying to be fair and keep my players informed.

  14. Ronan,

    Roll(10d20)+0:
    15,8,5,5,15,17,17,9,11,+0
    Total:119

    Int +17 +1 = 18

If they are behind us. I suggest we keep going. If we see them again we deal with them.

My understanding is we were under a time constraint. Move forward.

  15. The bad guys and fog are ahead of you. You were taking this path because the regular way was blocked.

Matt F - Assuming that you press forward, are you planning an attack? Do you enter the obsuring mist or do you wait for something to happen?

  16. I would do a swift action to give my blade a +1 enchantment. Hold my action to see if they attack first. I don't want to provoke. But have no issue finishing the combat.

  17. Korg calls out to the mist, "Excuse us, good folk, but you seem to have created a bit of an obstacle here... could you kindly move this out of the way? We're on important business for the Pathfinder Society and would prefer to be on our way without further... discomfort." 5ft step Back, Cast Mage Armor on myself

    Initiative: 18 +1 = 19

    Rolls:
    18,2,16,1,8

  18. Noc will keep his rolls from above, and hold his action. At the first sign of an attack from the mist, he's going in.

Move 1 – If attacked, move to nearest detected enemy, searching in the mist if necessary. (I3-ish)
Attack – Someone in the fog, drawing Nunchaku
    Attack Roll (s) – [2] + nevermind
    Initiative Roll – [17] +2 = 19

    Rolls for Saving Throws/Skill checks – 19,4,12,14,18,15,16,14,15

  19. Well I was going to go in and attack. But if Kelly Kelly Kelly and Kelly are waiting for them to come out and give up, I'll wait outside the fog for them to send their arrows/spells of surrender. But I'll hide in the shadows.
