GoM: The Festering Blot - GM Turn Post 44

A web of thick, pulsating goo covers the walls and part of the floor of this room. Dozens of misshapen, puffy heads and arms stick out from throbbing sacs attached to the vile substance, their mouths wailing and moaning, and their twitching claws reaching out blindly. Spiraling stairs lead down to a central two-foot-deep recess decorated with diabolical symbols.

  1. "The fuck.....?" Cando says, in awe of the spectacle. "This must be the center of the rot in this place. Be on guard friends."

Cando readies an attack, takes 1 move down the stairs.

Try to figure out what is going on in the room if I get a chance to look. Do they look dead or what?

  3. Ro-Mahn puts a hand on Cando's shoulder. "I applaud yer bravery, mate. Maybe clear the way with a bit o fire first, eh?"

Ro-Mahn will hurl alchemist fire at the nearest clumpy-squirmy thing and see of that brings the monster(s) out of hiding.

  4. Barnacleez thought to himself.. "I and my friends will follow the party down the steps, taking care not to get any webbing/goo on myself or my I.F. (Inanimate Friends).

One of the Biggun party mentioned flames. This sounds like a good idea, few things are not destroyed with cleaning flames, so I will be ready with a Burning Hands spell if it looks like fire will help.

But if the goo is the nasty, evil kind we have encountered before, I should have Disrupt Undead on-deck. That is if I has a clear shot to take. Being a wee little Gnome is not all it's cracked up to be in a world of bigguns'. But staying near the rear has not served me wrong so far.

    Although...
..There was that time with the Goblins where I zigged while the others zagged, and I found himself hand to hand with the nasty, stinky Gobbos. Luckily Lady Emyralda was on her game, and came to the rescue. We are very lucky to have her on our side in this fight.

But now it's time for a bold and stupid move on someone's behalf, and I think we are just the guys to make it happen. In fact, if Stabem would get it in gear, I think he's just, er..., bold enough to get this ball rolling.
It looks as if everyone is ready to get this adventure buttoned up for good. As far as adventures go, this one has been good, so far. I wonder if the Fates are ready for us to complete this quest and already has another one in store for us.
Hummm... just who am I waiting on ?
