Ro-Mahn maintained his footing upon the barrel and fired
another sling bullet at the monster. The projectile missed the leech.
Barnacleez managed to break the water’s surface and tread water. The gnome drew
his wand and fired a Magic Missile at the creature. The spell dealt 2 damage
upon impact.
Lady Emyralda swam away from the monster, withdrawing from
the combat. Wahesh swung both swords at the monster. The longsword landed
dealing 5 damage to the submerged monster. The piercing short sword also hit
and dealt 5 damage.
The leech attacked Wahesh in retaliation but missed the
fighter. After the attack, the monster submerged again.
Cando moved forward and charged his axe with arcane energy.
The half orc swung down with the head and connected with the slippery monster.
The attack dealt 3 damage. Stabem swam forward to get flanking with Cando. The
monster struck at the splashing halfling as he moved but missed its target.
Stabem poked the monster with his rapier and dealt 7 damage. This proved to be too
much for the monster.
Cando, Wahesh and Stabem made sure that the creature was
well and truly dead.
The water was still after vanquishing the leech. Moving
aside barrels, Cando cleared the way for the party to reach a dry footing.
Ro-Mahn scampered from barrel to barrel to ledge. The ranger/rogue located the
secret door near the southwest corner of the room as depicted on the old map.
Once the party was ready, and in position, Cando opened the door.
