GoM: The Festering Blot - GM Turn Post 39

What do you do next?

Starting positions are displayed on the combat map.

Please submit your turn instructions using the Player Action Response - Turn Post Template. If you are planning to use a specific skill, please list the skill and the associated roll(s) along with your 5 d20 rolls.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conditions:
Lady Emyralda - 2 Constitution damage
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Map Key:

Ceiling - The ceiling is 15 feet high on the estate’s ground floor and second floor.

Lighting - Areas inside the estate have normal light because of the abundance of doors and windows.

Chairs - Any squares that contain chairs are treated as difficult terrain.

Tables - With a successful DC 12 Acrobatics check, a creature can hop onto a table as part of a move action. If the creature fails this check by 5 or more, its movement ends and it falls prone.

The stairs are steep and are considered difficult terrain when ascending or descending.

Squares filled with bushes are considered difficult terrain and provide concealment (20% miss chance).

  1. My thought is we should check out the sparkly thing on top of the Gazebo I think it was in the North East (I can't find the map of the outside).

I think we should enter the basement through the secret tunnel, hopefully we can get the surprise factor going down below.

    1. You are correct. The gazebo is to the northeast. I added a copy of the estate map at the bottom for your reference.

  2. Sounds good - sparkly thing first, secret tunnel second. Did we actually find a secret tunnel? I totally forgot or skipped over the post :/
Did Cando need to play the Sea chantey on the harpsichord?

    1. Playing the music was discussed but has not happened yet. You found a music box with sheet music within.

The map you recently found marks the room you are currently in with a music note.

    2. Take the Harpsichord from Cando (I think he has it)
Cast Mending on it until it is completely repaired.

    3. Harpsichord is the piano-like object in the ballroom. It is the masterwork lute that Cando has which is broken.

  3. I have no qualms about checking shiny things out first... and I thought I remembered something about a secret passage too?

    1. To date, you have not discovered a secret passage but the recently found map seems to indicate a secret door in the cellar.

  4. Is the shiney roof thing too far from the window to detect magic on it?

    1. From the window, it is only about 35 feet away. It does not radiate a magic aura.

  5. 1) Investigate shiny object.
    2) Harpsichord. (Secret door?)
    3) Basement (unless we find as-yet hypothetical secret door)

    :)
