After several hours and miles of walking the twisted,
switchback riddled length of Taggun’s Crawl, the party spies their planned
destination.
A dwarven-built wall surrounds a courtyard cut into the
cavern. Grand doors depicting dour, dwarven faces and angular glyphs stand
beyond that open space. The metal doors to the redoubt are ajar, twisted and
bent by brute force, and a line of light spills out from the opening. Statuary
of dwarves decorates the courtyard, some of them showing signs of recent
vandalism. The walkway from the main gate to the front door is littered with
debris from the broken statues and overturned benches.
Do you wish to procced through the courtyard and main door
or do you want to seek out the sally port?

Front door or back -- let's do back. Seek out the sallyport, unless my cohorts are set on the courtyard.
ReplyDeleteWait, so... we never rested from the obstacle course, skeleton fight, and post-fight healing? Oy.
ReplyDeleteI follow Wahesh, grumbling softly.
Correct. You can however suggest a rest if you like.
DeleteLol, Well, being a *HERO-Adventurer* is a tough job! :P
ReplyDelete"I've always been a surprise back-door-man, it's where they least expect it."
ReplyDelete"Unless you all think a rest is possible, I don't know our time-frame here. There are folks, or bodies, to rescue though."
I guess the question is how long of a walk do we think it is. If it is a multiple day trip I suggest we go now. If it is a 1/2 hour trip we figure out the urgency if we need to go now.
ReplyDeleteThoughts?
Based on what you were told, the sally port can be accesses through a side cavern about a half a mile west of your current location.
Delete"We got a timetable, aye? Mightn it be quicker to take the direct route, rather than skulking bout the back?"
ReplyDeleteI want to search this area. What happened here? Did a giant rip the doors off? Did they explode? Activate Sneak Mode and search for clues

Ro-Mahn finds the courtyard to be unoccupied. He does find signs of several booted feet and a few clay bottles with the dregs of a sour-smelling ale inside.
DeleteThe damage to the doors appear to have been caused by crow bars, a ram and weapons.
Looking for a post from Steve.
ReplyDeleteNeed a consensus for which way to proceed. Enter this door or go in search of the sally port?
Sounds like It might be a fight on the other side of the door, but ok to fight or rest. I'll follow Ro-mahm
