--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conditions:

Ro-Mahn – Target of Ticklick’s Smite Good.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Map Key:

Ceiling - The ceiling is 15 feet high on the estate’s ground floor and second floor.

Lighting - Areas inside the estate have normal light because of the abundance of doors and windows.

Chairs - Any squares that contain chairs are treated as difficult terrain.

Tables - With a successful DC 12 Acrobatics check, a creature can hop onto a table as part of a move action. If the creature fails this check by 5 or more, its movement ends and it falls prone.

The stairs are steep and are considered difficult terrain when ascending or descending.

Squares filled with bushes are considered difficult terrain and provide concealment (20% miss chance).

  3. Hmm…I’d like to shove past Ticklick to get to L17 to get him between me and Stabem. Can I do that with acrobatics roll?
If so – Acrobatics roll: 17+3=20

I’ll target my attacks on Ticklick’s crossbow to hopefully stop his pin-cushioning me.

Lsword to hit: 14+5=19 Lsword Damage: 5+3=8
Ssword to hit: 9+3=12 Ssword Damage: 5+3=8

    1. You can attempt to tumble through his square with a successful acrobatics roll vs. His CMD +5. If you are successful, you can move past. Of unsuccessful, you cannot. Normally that would also generate an attack of opportunity. Since his bow is two-handed, I am not sure he would get one.

Also targeting his weapon would be a sunder maneuver. This would also normally provoke an attack of opportunity. Need to do a little research to determine of he gets one because of his natural claws.

    2. Ah, yes! But *I* have the element of surprise! Right? :P :D

I'm still inclined to try both of those maneuvers but let me know if either or both are prohibitively stupid.

    3. Both tumbling through the opponent's square (if failed) and making a sunder attempt would generate attacks of opportunity. While both provoke, you would only be subject to one attack.

You can certainly try either. Tumbling through the enemy square will require your move action and will only allow a single attack. Assuming your sunder attempt is successful, you still need to do enough damage to impact the weapon. The weapon has a hardness value which must be exceeded to damage the weapon. The weapon is usable without penalty until it has been reduced to 1/2 or greater hp. At that point it gains the broken condition (–2 penalty on attack and damage rolls. Such weapons only score a critical hit on a natural 20 and only deal ×2 damage on a confirmed critical hit). If reduced to 0 HP, the item is destroyed.

Assuming that the monster does not drop you before you act, there is a fair likelihood that a successful attack of opportunity could. Tumbling through the monster's square to get behind it is not a bad plan especially with your slow moving halfling coming up to the fight. In my opinion, it may be a better use of your time to attack the monster rather than his weapon. It is already wounded whereas the weapon is not.

    4. You could grapple him, or sunder his bow. Does he have a bite attack? Normally someone carrying a ranged weapon wouldnt get an aoe

    5. He would not be able to make an AoE with the ranged weapon but he has natural weapons and per the FAQ he can use one hand to make an AoE. It is a free action to take a hand off of or put your hand back on to a two-handed weapon. The example given is:

Two-Handed Weapons: What kind of action is it to remove your hand from a two-handed weapon or re-grab it with both hands?

Both are free actions. For example, a wizard wielding a quarterstaff can let go of the weapon with one hand as a free action, cast a spell as a standard action, and grasp the weapon again with that hand as a free action; this means the wizard is still able to make attacks of opportunity with the weapon (which requires using two hands).

As with any free action, the GM may decide a reasonable limit to how many times per round you can release and re-grasp the weapon (one release and re-grasp per round is fair).

  5. Looking for posts from Matt H and Steve.

  6. Thanks, Keith. I'll stick with the tumbling/acrobatics to get past Ticklick to get to L17 but stick with attacking him instead of trying to sunder his bow. Keepin' it simple.
