The long bookshelves in these dusty alcoves are filled with books.
The smell of mildewed paper hangs in the air. This library contains a fine
collection of books, maps, and other old documents, but mildew has ruined most.
Starting positions are displayed on the combat map.

Map Key:
Ceiling - The ceiling is 15 feet high on the estate’s ground
floor and second floor.
Lighting - Areas inside the estate have normal light because
of the abundance of doors and windows.
Chairs - Any squares that contain chairs are treated as
difficult terrain.
Tables - With a successful DC 12 Acrobatics check, a

this check by 5 or more, its movement ends and it falls prone.
The stairs are steep and are considered difficult terrain
when ascending or descending.
Squares filled with bushes are considered difficult terrain
and provide concealment (20% miss chance).

Barnacleez detects 8 auras of magic concentrated in one location. They appear to be located behind a small section of books on a shelf in square C5.
DeletePoint it out to our trap-detection expert. And investigate.
DeleteRo-Mahn examines the area that Barnacleez points out. He does not see anything that alarms him.

Ro-Mahn does not detect any traps in the room at a macro level. There are thousands of object within the library. Individual items would need to be examined to clear them as safe.
DeleteIs there any evidence of activity -- tracks in the dust on the floor, books that have been pulled out, in use or set aside?
ReplyDeleteThere are mite and giant centipede tracks throughout the house. It does not appear that the library has seen any recent scholarly use.
DeleteDare I ask what subjects the books cover, judging by their titles?
DeleteWahesh is more interested in the connection between the bugs, goblins, and blue guys all on demonic PEDs and their beef with Saringallow than if the Sarinis really were guilty. But does a casual inspection yield any clues?
He’ll leave the magical areas to the magical people.
