Paintings of people and landscapes adorn the walls of this once-grand
entrance hall. A few small vases, most of them cracked or broken altogether,
sit on semi-circular tables set against the west wall. A faint smell of mildew
hangs in the air.
The landscapes depict a sunset over mountains; a garden; and
shipyards. The portraits depict two proud-looking noblemen with prominent chins
and a beautiful noble lady.
Double doors exit to the north and south. Single doors exit
to the east and west. The door to the southwest opens into a cloakroom.
Starting positions are displayed on the combat map.

Ceiling - The ceiling is 15 feet high on the estate’s ground
floor and second floor.
Lighting - Areas inside the estate have normal light because
of the abundance of doors and windows.
Chairs - Any squares that contain chairs are treated as
difficult terrain.

The stairs are steep and are considered difficult terrain
when ascending or descending.
Squares filled with bushes are considered difficult terrain
and provide concealment (20% miss chance).

Lady Emyralda’s search of the cloakroom yields a quiver with 5 cold iron arrows, a quiver with 5 cold iron bolts, and a moldy purse that contains 26 gp. There are various other garments in the cloakroom, but all are moldy and have a dank smell wafting about them, eliminating any value they once had.

The voice answers Barnacleez, “I do not know. Nothing about this place seems familiar. I am weak and can only reach one of you. I chose you to contact because of your strong connection to magic.”
Delete"because you are here because of magic, or were you magical before you lost your name?"
Delete"I mean your connection to magic. I do not think that has anything to do with me or my current state."
DeleteCando would like to appraise the artwork to see if any of it might hold information, first, and value secondly. Stow the lute safely in his pack, axe in hands as we prowl about, move towards door leading into the unknown and wait for the search to complete.

The painting that depicts shipyards is still in good shape and worth 60 gp. The other paintings have varying water stains, tears, or suspicious-looking smudges and are valueless. Cando identifies the first landscape as a sunset over the Aspodell Mountains in Isger. He is unsure of the other two but Ro-Mahn believes them to represent a garden in Remesiana, Cheliax and shipyards in Eleder, Sargava. Cando is Certain that portraits of the nobles depict Baron Marcius Sarini, Marcius’s father, Baron Lucius Sarini, and Baroness Sadira Sarini. Upon seeing the portraits, Ro-Mahn recognizes the prominent chin of both men and realizes that the skeleton of the adolescent boy found in the crypt also had this feature.
