The creature upon the table resembles a small, metallic cobra. Its body is made of overlapping iron plates inlaid with silver patterns, and its eyes are pinpoints of red light.

Conditions:
None

Map Key:
Ceiling - The ceiling is 15 feet high on the estate’s ground
floor and second floor.
Lighting - Areas inside the estate have normal light because
of the abundance of doors and windows.
Chairs - Any squares that contain chairs are treated as
difficult terrain.
Tables - With a successful DC 12 Acrobatics check, a
creature can hop onto a table as part of a move action. If the creature fails
this check by 5 or more, its movement ends and it falls prone.
The stairs are steep and are considered difficult terrain
when ascending or descending.
Squares filled with bushes are considered difficult terrain
and provide concealment (20% miss chance).

Well since I can't hurt it, I will take a 5" step back after I swing.

Barnacleez identifies the creature as an Iron Cobra.
DeleteIt is a construct. It has DR 5/- and SR 13.
Typically, an iron cobra's bite injects poison from a hidden reservoir within its body. Because it is a construct, the cobra does not naturally produce this poison, and its creator must refill this reservoir manually. The reservoir holds enough poison for 3 successful bite attacks, after which the creature merely deals bite damage. The creator can fill the reservoir with any injury poison (typically black adder venom), though acid, alchemical substances, and even stranger liquids have been used.
and now that i see the map, we 5' step back.
Delete"Oooo, a clockwork snake!" Very cool, but yes, we can't have that biting party members and all.
ReplyDeleteWait until missile fire is done, then close and whack it with lsword.
Init = 1+3=4 (hmm, guess I don't have to wait after all.)
