A closer look at the northern portion of the room reveals
that the creature on the platform has a vaguely humanoid head, the body of a
lion, and the wings of a dragon. Its tail ends in long, sharp spikes. A successful Knowledge: Arcana roll can identify the creature.

Map Key:
Red “X” indicates the trapped floor section.
Ceiling - The ceiling is 15 feet high on the estate’s ground
floor and second floor.
Lighting - Areas inside the estate have normal light because
of the abundance of doors and windows.
Chairs - Any squares that contain chairs are treated as
difficult terrain.
Tables - With a successful DC 12 Acrobatics check, a
creature can hop onto a table as part of a move action. If the creature fails
this check by 5 or more, its movement ends and it falls prone.
The stairs are steep and are considered difficult terrain
when ascending or descending.
Squares filled with bushes are considered difficult terrain
and provide concealment (20% miss chance).

ReplyDeleteIt seems really strange for someone to install a trap in a high-use work area. Maybe it was added after the Sarinis were killed. There might be more, like one that activates the stuffed critter's tail.
Wahesh will hold where he is, assuming that Barnacleez will want to investigate the magic he detected, but try to spot anything trap-looking or otherwise out of the ordinary.

Cando likes his current spot in the middle of the room; he stands with his axe ready, scanning the room as his comrades continue to investigate. He ponders the creature at the end of the room with a measure of skepticism, after the fake chimera head experience downstairs... Using his bardic knowledge, he wracks his brain for knowledge of the Arcane (roll: 16 +1 = 17) that might tell him more about it.
