Begin combat. There is Surprise Round. Characters which are not surprised may only perform a Standard Action. To speed things along, please provide both your Surprise Round and Round 1 actions. The spider swarm has already acted in the Surprise Round.

Starting positions are displayed on the combat map.

    1. Yes. I asked for surprise round and round 1 actions. I do not expect much impact from the surprise round actions and we will quickly go into round 1.

  2. Barnacleez & Lou G'Boo will maneuver away from other party members so as not to be a good target for the spiders. since I have no way to combat the spiders except oil & fire.
    If the demon bile is still in sight Barnacleez will try to hurt it with 'disrupt undead' which is a "ray of positive energy".

  3. I'd like to move up to J3 if I can step OUT of the spider swarm. Can it be attacked as a conventional critter(s)?

    To hit = 14 + 4 = 18, unless part of that suffers from my str loss.
    Damage w/morning star = 4 + 1 (for 15 str?) = 5

    d20 = 7, 14, 4, 12, 5

    1. Oh! Nevermind. Since everyone's talking about fire, Wahesh tries to extricate himself from the swarm and engage in strategic retreat (run awaaay!)

      I'll hide behind Cando unless he runs away from me because I'm covered in spiders.

  4. My thought is delay I want to watch the swarm. Till everyone is out of the swarms.

    Either I am going to Cast Burning Hands or Blat depending on how / if everyone can get out. I can exclude only 3 of the swarms so I might have to do some movement.

    1. There is one swarm, it is 4 squareS big. You only have to hit 1 square of it to affect the whole thing.

    2. @ Matt F - Likely Dave (possibly Steve) will not be able to get out of the swarm and will take damage again before they act. Bruce is correct it counts as only one creature but it also cannot be counted as a single target to exclude from a channel. i.e. If you channel you will heal the swarm.

    3. I meantioned it for targeting a burning hands, you only have to catch 1 of the 4 squares to affect the whole thing.

    4. Do they take damage on their turn on the creatures?

      I guess it doesn't matter move to K6 Cast burning Hands

    5. Characters take damage on the creature's turn. The swarm has acted in the Surprise round and it goes first in round 1.

      @Matt F - You can perform only a Standard action in the Surprise round. If you cast Burning hands from where you are, you could hit the swarm (and Ro-Mahn and Stabem). You can act normally in round 1.

    6. Then Cast Guidance on Cando to give him a +1 to hit with the Acid if that is what he is going to do. I was thinking it was the start of the next full turn.

  5. Cando screams in a slightly unnaturally high pitch "AHHHH!! KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!" and moves away from the swarm to J1... He then attempts to recall if he has any way to hurt said swarm...?

    Round 1 - stay away from swarm, and watch for anything else that might come out - attack with the axe if something presents itself.

    2. @ Matt H - You do have a flask of Acid from Gellion's house. Every party member took one.

    3. Then after I move I will dig in my belt pouch for the flask of acid and ready it to make an attack the next round, if the situation permits. Is that acceptable?
