I think my friends are going to search the building for clues. I will wait to see if anything like Demon bile is upstairs before I blat. to heal the 2 of us that are injured.

"I will stand guard at the bottom here, while you check out the kitchen and anything else." He then moves to F9 and stands with weapon ready to attack anything that comes down the stairs, that isn't clearly harmless.

No. The prints are all over the place. There are especially clear on the stairs due to a lack of other clutter and debris. Now that you have seen the homunculus, the prints seem to match its feet.
