Lady Emyralda backed up a step and attacked again with her quarterstaff but the cleric missed the target. The halfling continued to fight the poison coursing through her body, managing to prevent any further ability damage. The monster howled in pain and rage even as its wounds began to close. The creature cast defensively and turned invisible. Afterward, the sounds of its wings flapping could be heard.

Barnacleez and Cando both disappeared from sight as well as they both rounded corners in their flight. Stabem thrust his rapier where the creature had been but the rogue did not make contact. Wahesh swung again with his cold iron morningstar but did not strike anything with his blow either.
