Cando raced into the room with a battle cry. The half-orc
slashed the giant spider with one end of his double-axe dealing 12 damage.
Wahesh followed on this heels drawing his longsword along the way. The other
fighter also struck the monster for 9 damage, killing it. As quickly as the
combat started, it was over.
The two bodies entangled in the web turned out to be a human
man and woman. Both were covered in spider bites and were barely alive. From
their ages, the party assumed that these were Gellion’s parents, Beldonna and
Altius Vazarro. Lady Emyralda channeled positive energy to heal the couple and
to destroy the Demon Bile. The healing helped the couple, bringing them to
consciousness but neither was strong enough to speak or move. The halfling
judged that this was likely the effects of the spider’s poison.
A search of the desk that was under the Demon Bile reveled
some arrow heads. One was cold iron, one was steel, one was obsidian and the
last was stone. There were also some scribbled notes on the desk that read,
“Adverse reaction to cold iron. What about magic? Fire? Cold? Further trials are
required.”
A small chest was located next to the desk. Stabem and
Ro-Mahn examined the vessel. It was not trapped or locked, so it was opened to
examine the contents. Within were discovered six flasks of acid, two flasks of
alchemist’s fire, two tanglefoot bags and five potions.
Barnacleez went to work on figuring “who” the potions were.
The gnome exhaustively examined the vials while dancing, shaking and tasting
the contents. Finally he pronounced the following, “This one is name Florence
and she is a potion of remove disease. This beauty is Marilyn and she is a
potion of lesser restoration. Lastly, these three are Larry, Moe and Curly.
They are potions of cure light wounds.”
