  2. Keef: is there a reflex save for when the hook fly explodes?

    1. Also, can I get flanking with a ranged attack by popping up from cover?

    2. Yes, there is a reflex save.

Not sure you are hiding. I know you wanted to but I think you had to full move to get to your position (unless you have a speed greater than 30).

  3. We move to B11 (when i say 'we' i mean Lou & I, i don't want everyone to follow us)

then cast another MM at the fly 2+1=3.

    20, 14, 7, 1, 12

  4. *UGH* I was hoping for a better game plan than this but...Wahesh drops bow, draws swords and moves to the dry side of I14 to play shoo-fly with his swords, wanting, if nothing else to drive it off the victims.

    To Hits
    l sword: 14+4=18
    s sword (if applicable): 5+4=9

    ls damage: 5+3=8
    ss damage: 4+3=7

    5d20: 15, 18, 20, 1, 14

Or did I jump the gun?

    1. Explodes for 10 points of damage when it dies

    2. You're right. If it explodes right there then all the hostages die too, I would guess.
Any recommendations? Try to draw it's attention?
Getting shot with a mm and an arrow didn't seem to get it's attention.

    3. Keef: would the layers of demon bile protect the apprentices from a hook fly explosion?

    4. Ugh. How about: can you called shot and sever the probiscus?

  5. @Joe - You raise interesting points.

@Dave - No, Demon Bile does not provide hard cover for the victims.

@Dave - No called shots. The monster is not built like that.

    1. Ok, I think you mentioned before that players can do non-lethal damage with a -4 on attack roll. If I can do that to knock the fly away then I will try.

Grappling the fly to pull it away sounds like a truly insane idea but that doesn't mean I won't do it if my option A above won't work O_o.

May I have a ruling, Judge Keith? :)

    2. I think youre on the right track, Joe. If you succeed in a grapple you can run it to a less populated area.

    3. @Joe - You could try to grapple the fly but it would take two rounds at a minimum before you could move it.

You could attempt a Drag Maneuver which would move the monster on your turn if successful. It moves 5 ft + 5 feet per 5 by which you exceed your target. Likely you would only move it 5 to 10 feet if successful.

Lastly, there are two dangers posed by the fly.

      1) It could release a swarm. You do not know how much blood the fly may have consumed prior to the party entering the room.
      2) It will explode if killed and it has not already released the swarm.

    4. Alright. Wahesh rethinks it, holds at C15 hopefully behind cover from Gellion's bombs and tries to draw the fly away from the victims with shouts and gestures. Ready to shoot once it leaves the corner.
