As the party was leaving the shop, Wahesh made one final
plea to Pricknettle, “Ma’am, I can’t blame you for being tight-lipped when a
bunch of armed strangers show up out of nowhere asking questions, maybe
bringing up stuff you don’t want to talk about.
But see, the Mayor did trust us enough to see what happened
to these apprentices. We have a note from her so you don’t have to take us at
our word. Though we only just started, the more we find out, the worse it looks
for them and for everyone else in Saringallow.
I think we’ll get to the bottom of this sooner or later.
We’re pretty determined, and some of us need the reward money. You asked for
good reasons to tell us anything more, the best one I got is that Gellion,
Nolaria and the rest might still be alive and might stay that way but ONLY if
we find them quickly.”
The fighter concluded his argument, “Anything you care to tell us will
stay with us."
The gnome alchemist held her ground with her response, speaking
quietly but firmly, “Unless you can provide substantial proof of your concerns
and a risk to Gellion’s well-being, I cannot in good conscience provide any
further information. We all must respect his freedom and privacy.”
With a nod of resignation and a short bow, Wahesh exited the
shop and meet with the rest of the party. The Pathfinders reached a consensus that
the Temple of Erastil was the place to investigate next and made their way to
the church.
The Temple of Erastil was located on the west side of town across
from the Gallows’ Graveyard. From appearances, it looked to be one of the
largest and oldest structures in town. Upon entering it was obvious to the
group that much of the space was dedicated to the needs of the people. As an
acolyte lead them to the modest chambers of the head priest, the party walked
past the large the infirmary and housing areas. The temple was busy with
citizens, seeking blessings and prayers.
