Ro-Mahn frowned and said, "Well, THIS isn’t suspicious.
Hold off a moment, friends, and I'll scout the house." As he was starting
to leave, the rogue paused and added, "If I start screaming like a stuck
pig, come save me."
Ro-Mahn walked the perimeter of the house and inspected the three
windows. Each was locked and shuttered preventing a view of the interior. The
rogue did notice a dark, greasy-looking stain oozing from between the slats of
the shutters. He decided not to mess with them and returned to the party.
"Looks dodgy. I say we just open the door and sneak
around until something attacks us." He pauses and looks at Cando and
Wahesh. "Or just thump around in there looking for clues until something
foolishly challenges our mighty warriors."
At the mention of entering the house and possible battle,
Barnacleez cast Mage Armor on himself.
At Ro-Mahn’s suggestion, Stabem stepped up to examine the
door. The halfling checked for traps and did not see anything to raise alarm.
Next he checked to see if the door was locked. When he grabbed the door handle,
he discovered it to be unlocked but, to his dismay, also that the door was
indeed trapped! A line of scalding red liquid shot from the door. “Look out!”, Stabem
shouted as he managed to dodge the attack. Wahesh and Lady Emyralda were not so
lucky. Each suffered 5 damage from the scorching blood.
